Tendeka elves help at charity grotto
December 22, 2018
The Christmas spirit has been in full flow for a number of weeks, and two Tendeka elves took this a step further by volunteering at CLAN’s Grotto, near Aberdeen.
CLAN Cancer Support is an Aberdeen-based charity which provides emotional and practical support to people affected by cancer, whether directly or indirectly. Each year, CLAN organises a Santa’s Grotto, and for the first time this year, it was situated at Den at the Glen, Maryculter, on the outskirts of the city.
Marketing & Communications Manager Gillian Fowler and Marketing & Creative Assistant Zoe Gove jumped at the chance of being elves, with additional attire worn to add extra sparkle to visits by children, young and old!
Gillian said: “So many charities rely on volunteers to be able to deliver services, as well as run their fundraising events, and we were delighted to support CLAN in their festive activities. CLAN is a charity close to many people’s hearts, mine included, and I am over the moon so many children were able to come see Santa, while also continuing to raise funds for this special charity.”
Over the 26 days that the Grotto was open, 744 volunteers were needed! And it’s great to hear nearly £20,000 was raised, with all monies being put directly towards helping local people affected by cancer.
