FloExtreme is designed for Inflow Control Device (ICD) wells where there is a risk of erosion downstream of the ICD due to exiting fluid velocities, e.g. water injection wells, oil production wells and gas production wells requiring high dP across the ICD.  The FloExtreme ICD is installed within a conventional ICD housing and feature a sacrificial tungsten carbide energy dissipation point downstream of the ICD nozzle. Flow is diverted into multiple exit points reducing the flow velocity and preventing impingement of the flow on the base pipe for production wells and ICD housing for water injection wells.

  • FloExtreme Injection (water injection wells)

FloExtreme Screen Ranges

  • FloExtreme Elite screen is a premium mesh screen which has been specifically engineered to reduce costs whilst maintaining performance and strength.
  • FloExtreme Ultra screen offers the ultimate in sand retention and fines tolerance. The mechanically robust premium mesh design features a five-layer system for support, drainage, filtration, convergence and protection.
  • FloExtreme Direct wire wrapped screens range offers both conventional slip-on and wrap-on pipe variations.
  • FloExtreme Compact screen provides sand control whilst allowing flexibility to re-dress on site utilising a slip on screen.
  • FloExtreme Compact Sub provides sand control whilst utilising short subs which can be shrouded for sandstone applications.
  • FloExtreme Shroud screen provides a filter to debris whilst being a cost-effective solution to a standard wire wrap or premium mesh screen.

FloCheck Dissolve

Tendeka’s FloCheck Dissolve valve acts as a passive ICD, and consists of a neutrally buoyant thermoplastic ball and dissolvable material cage, in addition to the standard passive device nozzle of required size.  FloCheck Dissolve provides a temporary checking mechanism allowing injection of fluids/acid stimulation after setting the liner.  Full-bore access is regained once the checking mechanism disappears over time.

FloCheck Injection

Tendeka’s FloCheck Injection Valve is designed for treatment of the completion annulus and near wellbore in wells completed with Inflow Control Device (ICD) technology.

Inflow control devices can provide great improvements in inflow performance but are designed to either restrict or prevent fluids from passing from the production tubular into the wellbore annulus.  A check valve functionality can also be beneficial during deployment to enable effective circulation of well fluids, and during production to prevent crossflow between zones.  To enable the ICD to be bypassed if chemical treatment of the annulus or near wellbore is required, the FloCheck Injection valve can be deployed to allow higher rate treatments to be performed.

The FloCheck Injection Valve is deployed within the ICD housing and can be run per joint, per zone or in multiples within a single joint, dependent on the rate or placement requirements.  The valve is designed for use with a wide range of fluids including acids and gas, making it very adaptable for well control.

FloCheck Production

FloCheck Production provides a high-rate check valve functionality for multi-zone producers with differentially depleted reservoirs. Mounted within a sand screen and compatible with gravel packing operations, FloCheck Production allows prevention of crossflow into lower pressured zones.

FloCheck Production was initially developed and qualified for high-rate gas wells but can be applied to any new or existing producer well where crossflow issues arise.

FloCheck Screen Ranges

  • FloCheck Production / Injection Elite screen is a premium mesh screen which has been specifically engineered to reduce costs whilst maintaining performance and strength.
  • FloCheck Production / Injection Ultra screen offers the ultimate in sand retention and fines tolerance. The mechanically robust premium mesh design features a five-layer system for support, drainage, filtration, convergence and protection.
  • FloCheck Production / Injection Direct wire wrapped screens range offers both conventional slip-on and wrap-on pipe variations.
  • FloCheck Production / Injection Compact screen provides sand control whilst allowing flexibility to re-dress on site utilising a slip-on screen.
  • FloCheck Production / Injection Compact Sub provides sand control whilst utilising short subs which can be shrouded for sandstone applications.
  • FloCheck Production / Injection Shroud screens provide a filter to debris whilst being a cost-effective solution to standard wire wrap or premium mesh screens.

Press release

Independent global completions service company Tendeka has secured a major four-year exclusive contract with Equinor to deliver sand-face completion equipment for its Troll field.

The agreement, which offers an additional five two-year extension periods, will see Tendeka install up to 100,000 metres of sand screens annually with its FloSure Autonomous Inflow Control Devices (AICDs).

An initial contract between the two companies for Tendeka to provide screens and ICD/AICDs was signed in 2012 with a further two extensions later agreed.

Brad Baker, CEO at Tendeka, said: “This is tremendous news for the company and it is a testament to the hard work of the team, commitment to continuous improvement and our significant investment in production optimization technology that we have secured this new contract for the next four years.”

Karianne Amundsen, Tendeka’s Scandinavia Area Manager, added: “It’s been a great pleasure to work alongside Equinor on a field that represents the backbone of Norwegian oil and gas production. The project has been challenging, educational and rewarding, and our team truly appreciates that we get to continue this journey while striving for more efficient operations and new technology.

“Over the next few years, we look forward to delivering further results for Equinor, ensuring they achieve their production enhancement goals.”

Tendeka has installed more than 7,000 passive ICDs and more than 35,000 AICDs around the world. The field adjustable FloSure AICDs preferentially chokes unwanted produced fluids whilst promoting production of oil from the entire length of the well, leading to greater recovery, lower water cuts and less gas production.

Deployed as part of the lower completion using zonal isolation packers to divide the reservoir into compartments, the AICD can be integrated with sand control screens for soft formations.

Mr Baker added: “This award, alongside several other recent international wins for our sand and inflow control technology, bolsters our position in the global market and confirms Tendeka as the industry leader in autonomous inflow control technology.”

(Notes:  Equinor’s Troll field lies in the northern part of the North Sea, containing around 40 per cent of total gas reserves on the Norwegian continental shelf )

FloFuse Injection

FloFuse Injection is an autonomous injection control device that limits the flow of injected fluids into thief zones to ensure effective flow distribution in fractured or highly heterogeneous reservoirs.  This device is a biased open valve which enables water injection at normal distributed rates but chokes once a trigger rate is exceeded.

FloFuse Injection delivers:

  • effective near wellbore treatment
  • improved reservoir sweep
  • reduced water production

FloFuse Production

FloFuse Production is an autonomous production control device designed to limit the liquid rate from a high fracture section in the reservoir. A high flowrate of water will compress the disc to fuse and choke the flow. The normal distributed rates and trigger rate are engineered for optimum performance in each application.  The valve remains dynamically reactive and will re-open if distributed flow can be achieved.

FloFuse Screen Ranges

  • FloFuse Elite screen is a premium mesh screen which has been specifically engineered to reduce costs whilst maintaining performance and strength.
  • FloFuse Ultra screen offers the ultimate in sand retention and fines tolerance. The mechanically robust premium mesh design features a five-layer system for support, drainage, filtration, convergence and protection.
  • FloFuse Direct wire wrapped screens range offers both conventional slip-on and wrap-on pipe variations.
  • FloFuse Compact screen provides sand control whilst allowing flexibility to re-dress on site utilising a slip on screen.
  • FloFuse Compact Sub provides sand control whilst utilising short subs which can be shrouded for sandstone applications.
  • FloFuse Shroud screen provides a filter to debris whilst being a cost-effective solution to a standard wire wrap or premium mesh screen.
