Gary SmartChief Executive Officer
Gary Smart joined Tendeka in 2009 and assumed the CEO role at the start of 2011, previously he was the company’s, COO. Prior to joining Tendeka Gary spent 11 years with Weatherford International, latterly as group vice president of its well screen technology business.
He has more than 22 years’ experience in the international energy industry and has a wealth of experience in strategic planning, operational, financial and technical leadership.
Gary holds an MBA from Henley Management College.
Alan PearsonChief Financial Officer
Alan Pearson joined Tendeka as CFO on 15 June 2009. He has more than 15 years experience in both corporate and private practice, and was previously the finance director for Total Waste Management. Prior to this, Alan served as Eastern Hemisphere controller for Baker Hughes Drilling Fluids.
He brings a strong background of financial discipline and has worked with a number of companies experiencing high levels of growth. In these positions he ensured the financial systems, controls and reporting met the specific needs for such environments.
A qualified accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland (ICAS), Alan also holds a BA in Accountancy and Finance from Heriot Watt University.
Benn VollVice President - Completions Systems
Benn Voll, Vice President - Completions Systems, prior to joining Tendeka in 2009, worked for 19 years with Baker Hughes in areas such as new product development, marketing and operations.
Benn started his carrier as a drilling and completion engineer for Statoil in Norway. He has worked in areas such as North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, Russia, North Africa, Middle East and Far East.
Benn holds a Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Technology from the University of Stavanger and an MBA from the University of Houston.
Garth NaldrettVice President - Monitoring & Control
Vice President Monitoring & Control – Garth Naldrett joined Tendeka through the acquisition of FloQuest in 2009, a business he founded in 2006. Prior to joining Tendeka, Garth held various positions within Schlumberger including product champion for fibre optic monitoring and project engineer for subsea monitoring.
With 15 years oil and gas industry experience Garth brings knowledge in completions, reservoir monitoring and interpretation.
Garth holds a BSc in Electronic Engineering from the University of Cape Town and an MSc in Electrical Engineering also from the University of Cape Town.
Gillian KingVice President for Asia Pacfic
Gillian King joined Tendeka as Senior Sales Engineer on 3rd January 2007
Prior to joining Tendeka Gillian held various positions within Weatherford Completion Systems including Product Line Champion for Sand Control Systems, Applications Engineer and Customer Account Representative. With over 10 years oil and gas industry experience Gillian brings knowledge in completions, sand control and expandable technologies.
Gillian holds a BSc in Biochemistry from Aberdeen University and an MSc in Oil & Gas (Offshore) Engineering from Robert Gordon’s University.
Derren Simpson Vice President for Middle East & North Africa
Derren was previously Country Manager for WellDynamics in Australia.
He has more 20 years experience in the international energy industry and held a number of management positions within Weatherford International since 1996. Derren has gained industry expertise in Well Construction, Drilling, Intelligent Completions & Conventional, Sand Control, inflow control and production optimisation technologies.
He has a wealth of experience in operations and product line management, while also having in-depth knowledge in strategic planning in various geo-markets and product lines and brings to Tendeka a clear understanding of operational, technical and financial knowledge of the Asia Pacific Geo- Market.
Ken Miller Vice President, NA
Ken Miller joined Tendeka as Global Business Development Manager in 2010 and was appointed as Vice President, North America the same year. Ken, previously Commercial and Business Development Manager, Completions Technologies at Weatherford, has 27 years experience in the international energy industry and held a number of management positions within Weatherford and Houston Well Screen since 1983.
Ken has extensive industry expertise in oil and gas sand control management and a wealth of knowledge in completions.
Ken majored in Accounting and Business Administration at the University of Southwestern Louisiana.
